Why Am I Seeing a “Out of Lumens” Message on Unlimited Pro?

Learn how Unlimited Pro works, why you may see Lumens errors, which features are included in unlimited generation, and when additional Lumens are required.

Updated over a week ago

If you’re on an Unlimited Pro plan and see a message about running out of Lumens, don’t worry — this usually relates to features that are not covered under Unlimited generation.

Here’s how Unlimited Pro works:

What Does “Unlimited Lumens” Mean?

With Unlimited Pro, you can:

✅ Generate unlimited images using starryai and community styles
✅ Continue generating even after your Lumens are exhausted
✅ Use 4× upscaling in unlimited slow mode

There is no hard cap on standard image generation when using supported styles.

Why Am I Getting a Lumens Error?

Certain advanced features are not included in unlimited generation and always require Lumens, including:

  • Image edits or transformations

  • Video generation

  • Higher upscales (8× and 16×)

These features consume Lumens separately from unlimited generation.

What Happens When My Lumens Are Used?

Once your included Lumens are exhausted:

  • You can still generate unlimited images

  • You can still use 4× upscaling in slow mode

  • Generation may process at a slower speed

However, edits, transformations, and video features will require additional Lumens.

Can I Buy More Lumens?

Yes.

Unlimited Pro members can purchase additional Lumens at a 50% discount.

These Lumens can be used for:

  • Image edits

  • Transformations

  • Video generation

  • Higher-resolution upscaling.

You will still retain unlimited standard generation and 4× upscaling regardless of whether you purchase extra Lumens.
